The results of our 2018 stewardship campaign was positive with a total of $334,008 raised, an increase of $4139 (1.2%) over our 2017 stewardship campaign.

We had a total of 94 pledges received and 41% of those increased their pledge over 2017. We are truly blessed with a generous and committed congregation that cares deeply about the future of the First Presbyterian Church. Thanks to all!

Adoption of Balanced Budget Resolution: In December, Session adopted a balanced budget resolution that, in simple terms, states that Session will consider adopting a budget only if projected expenditures can be paid for with expected income. This is sound fiscal policy that, if followed, will prevent the crisis we have experienced the that last few years where expenditures have expected needed income and the general fund has been running a deficit most of 2016 and 2017.

Adoption of 2018 budget: In January, session adopted the 2018 budget. Session approved a balanced budget after reducing some expenses and approving the use of Foundation funds to supplement the budget. We have included money to fund all of our current programs and added money to fund the Pastor Nominating Committee and add communication director duties to the administrative assistant position.

Clearing the debt. In 2017, we ran a deficit due to Sarah’s salary being paid for 5 months. Foundation agreed to fund that deficit giving us a fresh start in 2018.

FPC is fiscally sound and has a great future.
