Jason Moore - Creative Workshop

Thanks to the 12 participants in the Creative Workshop in Ft Wayne - a challenging and worthwhile day spent exploring ways to enhance worship at 1st Pres.

Award winning commercial artist Jason Moore - author of several books on Digital Storytelling, the Wired Church and lecturer at conferences around the nation - provided inspiring insights into digital storytelling, art, music and technology.

Attendees are processing the information and working towards adopting some of the key ideas for our church.

A Letter from Pastor Rebecca

Posted by Andy McCaskey on Friday, September 18, 2015 @ 5:02 PM

Dear Loving Congregation,

I want to thank you for the outpouring of grace and generosity in recent days.  You have showered me with visits and laughter, flowers, lattes, chocolates and foot rubs—if I’d known about your generosity, I would have come to the hospital much earlier!

You have surrounded me with your presence when I could have been all alone.  Instead I was called the “Queen of Visitors.”

My legs and arms continue to shake (leading Jackie McCoy to say that my new scripture verse is “Be still my legs!”) I still have some problems with memory and thought.  I know this is a serious medical crisis.

But, because of you, I have not been frightened. I have had joy and great fun in the hospital.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

 God bless you all.

 Pastor Rebecca

Thursday Night Forum

Thanks to Jim Pyles and his efforts to host a panel of candidates for Elkhart City Council. We had all nine candidates, representing all three parties, with us  for a lively discussion of their various platforms.  We have offered this event not only for the benefit and education of our congregation, but as a service to our community; that we all might be more informed citizens.

We had a large number of community members - thanks also for coffee and refreshments - Coke Good and others.
