Pentecost Special Offering

A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children.

40% of FPC’s offering will be retained by us, and given to benefit Geneva Center.

The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Mission Agency for: Young Adult Volunteers, Ministries for Youth, and Children-at-Risk.

Please support this worthy cause as the Spirit leads you. Special envelopes will be in our worship spaces for this purpose.

Our offering will be dedicated on Pentecost Sunday, June 4, in our combined service at 10 AM. The red flames in our logo symbolize the Holy Spirit - which touched Jesus’ Disciples on the first Pentecost (Acts 1: 2-3). Christian tradition encourages the wearing of something red that day!

“Up We Go"

Engaging to Lead Your Congregation to New Heights

by Tom Lefevre

Pastor Rebecca invites and encourages our attending a special free 2-hour workshop at South Bend’s Sunnyside P.C. Sat. May 20 from 9:30 - 11:30 AM EDT, with focus on enhanced practices for a Healthy Congregation.

Who may attend?: Any FPC member who loves our church, and wishes to get some practical, creative ideas on how we might enhance and energize our congregational life together. Especially during our time of pastoral transition, the more of us who seek out ways we might revitalize church life - the better!

Session members, Deacons, Vision Team members, and other leaders are especially urged to attend. Who knows what ideas the Lord might lead us to, in a larger body of faithful Presbyterians?

Where is it?: Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, South Bend, IN: 115 S. Frances St. 46617. This event is put on by our Presbytery, and is free of charge. No advance registration is necessary.

Update on Habitat Women's Build

Posted by Andy McCaskey on Friday, April 7, 2017 @ 10:12 AM

Sisters, our confirmed work day is Sat., May 13. We’ll be building a home for Charissa Johnson’s family at 2422 Morehouse Ave. in Elkhart (a block north of E. Hively, between Prairie & Main Streets.)

Thankfully our Foundation has donated $1,000 to make FPC an official Build Sponsor!

What a great way to start! The work time is from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Mary Rasp - a passionate Habitat supporter - is “Nail Captain” again this Spring.

A signup sheet is in the Gathering Place, and as of Apr. 6, we still invite 3 more builders. Eleven are signed up so far, and we aspire to field a group of 14 helpers.

Our work day plan is to put up insulation & siding, and the roof will have been previously finished. Safety glasses & tools will be provided, and builders should wear closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, and work gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to share the age-based offering (your age times $1.00) to be a builder. But please note - if that is not feasible for any reason - you can still participate - as a builder, or as a “Lunch Mom.” As such, you’d provide a morning snack and lunch (e.g., sandwiches, chips, fruit, string cheese and bottled water) for 14 builders. People can partner in providing lunch.

For folks who wish to strengthen their carpenter’s skills, Habitat sponsors a free clinic at Lowe’s on Reith Blvd. (just off U.S. 33 toward Goshen) on Saturday April 29, from 9:00 AM to Noon.

If you plan to attend, please email If you’ll be part of this great local outreach ministry, please sign up, and let Mary Rasp know at: or call at: 574-293-2472 (Home) or text 574-361-8459 (Cell). Thank you!
