Women Build for Habitat - 2017 - Breaking Ground!

Posted by Andy McCaskey on Saturday, March 18, 2017 @ 8:35 PM

Jesus was a carpenter … as his hands and feet in the world today -

Ladies, pick up your hammers and pound! Signup for this year’s Women Build is off and running! It will be from May 2 through June 3 at 1923 Belmont Ave. in Elkhart. Work day is from 8 AM to 2:30 PM.

Our Mary Rasp - a passionate Habitat supporter - has offered to be a “Nail Captain” again this Spring. She’ll be helping coordinate FPC’s presence and participation.

A signup sheet will be in (or near) the Gathering Place, and builders among us are invited to sign up ASAP. We have a tentative scheduled work date of Saturday May 13 - all day - from 8 to 2:30.

Volunteers are encouraged to share the age-based offering (your age times $1.00) to be a builder.

But please note - if that offering is not feasible for any reason - you can still participate - as a builder, or as a “Lunch Mom.” [Sorry - no soccer that day!] As such, you’d provide a morning snack and lunch (e.g., sandwiches, chips, fruit, string cheese and bottled water) for twenty builders.

People can partner in providing lunch. For folks who wish to strengthen their carpenter’s skills, Habitat sponsors a free clinic at Lowe’s on Reith Blvd. (just off U.S. 33 toward Goshen) on Saturday April 29, from 9:00 AM to Noon.

If you’ll be part of this great local outreach ministry, please sign up early, and let Mary Rasp know at: or call at: 574-293-2472 (Home) or 574-361-8459 (Cell). Thank you!

Posted by Sarah Sanderson-Doughty on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 @ 2:13 PM

ALL are welcome to join us in our sanctuary on Saturday, January 28 at 7 p.m. in our church sanctuary for a marvelous night of music with a highly acclaimed singer, songwriter, storyteller-- John McCutcheon.  There will be no charge for admission, but a free-will offering will be received to benefit our emergency relief fund through which we assist individuals and families in need with utility and housing expenses.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear the "most impressive instrumentalist" no less than the great Johnny Cash has ever heard! Enjoy good music and make a difference in your community!  Can you think of a better way to spend a late January Saturday?

Never heard him before? Check out this video.

This event made possible by the generosity of the Miller Family who established the Miller Endowment for Arts and Enrichment.
