Passtor Sally’s Devotional 7/4
Blog | July 4, 2020
Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Here’s another great hymn in “Glory to God” that offers prayers for our nation. The note in our hymnal says that the first two verses were written between the First and Second World Wars and pray for peace. The third was written later about another poet using language from the Lord’s prayer to remind us that our hope is in Christ in all times and in all lands.
This is my song, O God of all the nations, My country’s skies are bluer than the ocean, This is my prayer, O Lord of all earth’s kingdoms; Thy kingdom come; on earth thy will be done. Let Christ be lifted up till all shall serve him, And heart united learn to live as one. So hear my prayer, O God of all the nations: Myself I give thee; let thy will be done.

God bless us you, and God bless our county on this day,
Pr. Sally
