The people make the church. The leaders at First Presbyterian include a talented and committed staff, a dedicated group of lay leaders and a happy bunch of volunteers. Come meet some of the people who make First Presbyterian such a special place.
Rev. Dr. Sally Wicks
(Pastor Sally) is a spiritual guide on our journey together. She has degrees from Albion College, Princeton Theological Seminary and Louisville Theological Seminary and a wealth of Biblical and Theological expertise which we appreciate. She’s a good teacher and a compassionate pastor. Pastor Sally is married to Mike who is also a Presbyterian pastor. The two of them have three grown sons, a loud basset hound named Theo and an energetic “little” dog named Abby.

Celia Weiss
Celia Weiss has served as Director of Music and Organist for over 40 years. She is an adjunct assistant professor of Music for the Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend. Celia also maintains an active teaching and performing schedule throughout the Michiana area.

Originally from a rural area of northwestern Pennsylvania, Anna currently lives in Elkhart with her husband, David, and their three children. Anna is passionate about children’s and youth ministry and enjoys equipping congregations to be effective, passionate, and confident as they teach and build relationships with children

Matt Kennedy
“Music has always played a big part in my spiritual life and I am excited to be a part of the Contemporary Worship Service.” Matt has performed extensively throughout Indiana and Michigan as a solo artist and with his band HiFi2WiFi. His compositions have been heard on the Discovery Channel, Fox Sports, and CBS Network Television. Matt lives in Mishawaka with his wife, Cathi. They have 2 sons: Nate and Sam.

Mary has been a member of First Presbyterian church for over 25 years. She oversees and organizes the Contemporary Worship services. Mary & her husband John live in Goshen & have two children, Chris & Kelsey. In her free time Mary enjoys reading, traveling, & Detroit Tiger’s baseball.

Steve is a long-time member of FPCE. He enjoys serving the church in this part-time position. Steve loves to garden and read.

Scott Leiter
Scott is the dedicated technology expert at the church, overseeing all technical aspects. As the Technology Coordinator, he manages the live stream and sound for both Traditional and Journey Cafe worship services, ensuring a seamless online worship experience for our ever-growing congregation. Scott also trains and leads our tech volunteers to enhance our capabilities.
